During January and February, our shower and laundry trailers are placed in storage to protect them from damage caused by freezing temperatures. In the past, we attempted to operate during these months, but it led to significant damage to pipes, tankless water heaters, brass fittings, sinks, and washers and dryers. To ensure the long-term use of our trailers and continue providing services for years to come, we made the tough decision to pause showers and laundry during these two months.

However, our team remains active, going out to check on and support neighbors experiencing homelessness under bridges, in wooded areas, and other locations. It’s heartbreaking that people must wait two months for showers, and we’re actively working toward solutions.

In the future, we hope to have an indoor space where our trailers can operate year-round or to build a large awning at our main outreach location to provide services in the winter.
